Keeping your system drivers up to date is essential to ensure the computer works as expected, fully functional and reduce chances of crashing (like the popular BSOD – Blue Screen of Death). Drivers is a special software that let’s the OS (Operating System) know how to use your PC hardware. For all these reasons, drivers is very important to ensure a stable and healthy system. The new Ashampoo program, Driver Updater, aims to install missing drivers, update old drivers, and fix wrong drivers, something common for older computers running newer OS.
Driver Updater is a very easy and simple program to use. With simple interaction, the program scans and fixes all the drivers.
The program only supports Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10. If you are running older Operating Systems, this is not a program for you.
This is the very first release, and for that reason, is a program that is still growing. The database has a long way to go, that’s is something you need to have in mind. There are better solutions on the market right now, in my opinion. By saying this, I don’t mean that Driver Updater is bad. In fact, it’s quite good, but I just want to alert you it might not be efficient at all on your system.
On this post, I am going to tell you how to enjoy from the full version. Otherwise, you aren’t able to fix your drivers, only to scan for out of date or missing drivers. Despite the fact the program has one unique release, the patcher should work with future versions of kind 1.x.x.
Install the program if not installed yet. You can download the installer from official sources. To install, simply run the executable file and follow all the instructions.
Considering you just installed the program and it’s running, just close it. You can use task manager if you want, but alternatively, on system tray, right click hover Driver Updater. A menu should expand. Next click Exit.
Now, download the patcher. You can do it clicking on the following button.
Next, copy the patcher (executable file), and place it on Driver Updater installation directory. The default location is C:\Program Files\Ashampoo\Ashampoo Driver Updater.
Finally, run the patcher and click Patch button.
Hopefully, you now have Driver Updater activated. Enjoy 🙂
