For this tutorial you will need to download two MalwareBytes setups. The first one, is an older version, 220.127.116.118, while the second one is the most recent version 18.104.22.1684.
Click the Download Setups button to get them. The files are named to distinguish both versions.
Now, follow all the steps on the next section.
Firstly, you will run mbam-setup-22.214.171.1248.exe and follow all the steps to install. There is no trick here and it’s easy, so I won’t cover step by step. Just take a look at the place where you install MalwareBytes. Once completed, just close the setup window (don’t run it).
Now, browse to folder where you installed the program. Tip: If you have a shortcut on the Desktop easily right-click over it and Open File Location
Now copy all the files inside the folder, excluding folders and unins000.exe and unins000.dat. All the rest files can be copied. Go to the desktop, for example, and create a new folder. Paste the files there.
GREAT! Now you can uninstall MalwareBytes 2.1 from the control panel.
Upward, you must install MalwareBytes 2.2. Just execute the file mbam-setup-org-126.96.36.1994.exe and follow all the instructions to install.
Open the MalwareBytes installation location (right-side). Also, open the folder where you placed the files from MB 2.1 and Copy or Cut them (left-side). On MalwareBytes 2.2 installation location, Paste them and replace all.
That’s it. This was a complicated process but all you need now is an ID and a Key, and they are below. NOTE: THESE ID’S/KEYS WON’T WORK IF YOU DON’T FOLLOW THE EARLIER STEPS.
